Our Story

A legacy of family and energy innovation

At Titan Energy, family is at the heart of everything we do. Founded over two decades ago by John Kearney and Jerry Hawkins, our company started as a small startup in the basements of their homes. Through hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Titan Energy has grown into a leading independent energy consultant, serving businesses and municipalities across North America.

img-about-hero

Titan Energy has always been more than just a business—it is a legacy. Although co-founder John Kearney has passed, his impact continues through the next generation. His sons have stepped into leadership roles, ensuring that Titan Energy remains an industry leader while upholding the core principles upon which it was built. Meanwhile, Jerry Hawkins continues to play an active role in the company, bringing his vision and expertise to guide the team forward.

All of our employees are family, too. Titan Energy fosters a culture where every team member is valued, supported, and empowered to grow. We believe that a strong, united team translates to better service for our clients, and this philosophy has led to long-standing relationships—some spanning more than 20 years—with our customers.

Over the years, Titan Energy has expanded beyond electricity and natural gas procurement to include solar and co-generation consulting, data management, energy efficiency solutions, storage, EV charging, and LED lighting. We proudly serve more than half of Connecticut’s municipalities, helping them control costs and advance sustainability goals. As a supplier-neutral consultant, our priority is always the best interests of our clients, ensuring they receive the most effective energy solutions.

Beyond business, Titan Energy is deeply rooted in the Connecticut community. In honor of co-founder John Kearney, we sponsor the John F. Kearney Scholarship at Eastern Connecticut State University, awarded annually to a deserving student pursuing political science or history. Giving back is an integral part of our company’s mission, and we are proud to contribute to the communities that have supported our growth.

Titan Energy embodies the true spirit of a family-driven business—one built on strong relationships, lasting values, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and, most importantly, our people—our family.
