Titan Energy Named Renewable Energy Procurement and Electric Vehicle Charging Consultant for Connecticut Conference of Municipalities
Connecticut towns are addressing rising municipal energy and fuel costs with state-wide partnership
Hartford, Connecticut– July 26, 2022 –
Titan Energy New England (“Titan Energy”), a leading provider of electricity and natural gas procurement services for Connecticut municipalities, is excited to announce the expansion of its partnership with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (“CCM”) to include renewable energy procurement and electric vehicle (EV) charging station services.
These new programs expand CCM and Titan Energy’s successful municipal energy procurement program. In addition to electricity and natural gas procurement, Titan Energy will now also act as a consultant for renewable energy (solar, fuel cell, storage, co-generation) and EV charging station projects. Titan Energy provides a turn-key approach that is hardware agnostic and aims to maximize value for its customers.
“Towns are on the forefront of the energy and sustainability movement and we are here to provide expert guidance,” said Chris Ramm, Titan Energy’s General Manager. “Titan is looking forward to continuing to work with Connecticut municipalities to navigate the solar development process that drives savings and stability in a volatile energy market.”
In 2018, Titan Energy New England was competitively selected as the energy procurement consultant for CCM based on Titan Energy’s twenty years of experience, in-depth market expertise and strong municipal reputation. Titan Energy currently serves close to 40% of Connecticut’s 169 towns and cities through the CCM Energy Program.
As energy utility rates rise, Titan has helped Connecticut towns evaluate alternative strategies, including integrating renewable energy such as solar. “We help towns understand how to monetize their underutilized and undervalued assets such as rooftops, capped landfills, brownfield and parking lots,” said Adam Teff, General Manager of TitanGen, Titan Energy’s generation division.
Meanwhile, municipalities are also being asked to respond to increases in electric vehicle registrations and public charging demand. With utility incentives available, Connecticut towns and cities are among those leading the way in supporting EV charging infrastructure at strategically placed public sites.
“Towns are likely to have many questions when considering EV charging infrastructure. As the market continues to evolve, expert guidance is critical. Titan has been a valued partner to CCM and its member municipalities, and they can provide that proven, professional guidance,” said George Rafael, director of CCM’s Municipal Resource and Service Center.
