Hartford Courant: Eversource Seeks Rate Increase that Could Double Some Customers’ Bills; Lamont to Call Special Session to ‘Seek Relief’ for CT Residents (November 17, 2022)
Eversource has requested an increase for the electric supply rate that could double customers’ monthly bill, the company said in a release Thursday. The increase, which must first be approved by Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, would take effect Jan. 1.
If approved, supply rates would double from 12.05 cents per kilowatt-hour to 24.2 cents per kilowatt-hour, which would mean an increase of $85 per month for the average customer.
